SPONSOR ME!

LudlowThere are approximated 340 students in grades k-8. The majority of students come from very low poverty levels and live in the neighborhood.

The best thing about Ludlow is the wonderful support our teachers provide to their students every day. Our teachers provide many of the necessary school supplies needed by our students. Teachers also buy their own paper in addition to the other needed materials, for their classroom and their students.

So, in February 2016, we ran out of copy paper. With 30 teachers on staff, each teacher needed (2-3) additional cases in order to finish the school year. Many of my teachers purchased what they could out of their own pocket.

School District for the past 16 years. Since teaching in the Philadelphia School District, I have purchased many supplies for my classroom from markers, crayons, construction paper, bulletin board paper and COPY PAPER. James R Ludlow has a staff that works together to stay focused on the STUDENTS. All teachers will share their personal supplies with other collegues to keep the school running smoothly for the children.

We are always sharing with each other Staples Deals of the Week ( Copy Paper Rebate,Penny Pencils, copybooks, etc ) and all everyday supplies to make your classroom the BEST learning environment for the students.

This upcoming school year will be my 19th year as a teacher and way back in 1998 I would have never dreamed that 20 years later one of the biggest headaches or problems in my classroom would be paper. I swear when I find that last hidden pack a rainbow appears because paper is gold! Imagine having everything set for slam dunk lesson and taking the directions sheet to the copier and thinking “Nooooo!!! I forgot to bring paper to work this morning!” Most people walk out the door to work and they grab their lunch, maybe a sweater or umbrella, but I can’t think of another profession that has to bring their own paper. Imagine going to the doctors office and she tells you that she wants to write you a prescription but she forgot to bring on her paper today. It just shouldn’t be a stress or worry. I find myself cutting corners and going 2 -sided on things that really shouldn’t be. People laugh when I tell them that the greatest gift teachers get is paper.
